Find nonprofits by entering the orginazation name, keywood or EIN in the search field.

With 1.9 million nonprofits, names can be very similar or even exactly the same. Of course, it would be best to search by EIN, the organization’s Employer Identification Number.
For example, searching for “food bank” gives 16,662 results!
Searching for “45-2404503” gives exactly one.

Filter Example
To continue with my “food bank” example above, that keyword phrase has 285 in Maryland. If you search on “Rockville” without specifying a state, you get:
- 3 in Rockville, Connecticut
- 1 in Rockville, Indiania and
- 10 in Rockville, Maryland
You can combine search filters with State=Maryland amd City=Rockville to get only the 10. Note that you can only search on Zipcode if you have a paid subscription.
Local Library
Are you looking up other GuideStar listings or looking for a group of nonprofits? For example, to search for those in a specific County or Zipcode, you need a paid subscription. Most public libraries have access to the GuideStar Pro database. However, there may be restrictions on its use such as having a library card or being physically in the library.
